Criteria for judging projects

In general, a project is more valuable for the Go community and for the spreading of Go if it has more impact. Below is a list of criteria you can use as a guideline when picking your choice.

Several basic categories of objectives can be distinguished, including:

  • Increasing public awareness,
  • Strengthening existing Go communities,
  • Supporting the infrastructure of Go promotion.

Effectiveness

  • Are there measurable objectives?
  • Are the objectives relevant?
  • Are the objectives reached?

Efficiency

  • What is the ratio between the human and financial input on the one hand and the outcome on the other?

Originality

  • Is the project unique in its nature?
  • Does the project open new perspectives for the promotion of Go?

Current

  • Does the project make use of new opportunities, social developments, (marketing) strategies, technologies, social media?

Potentiality

  • Is further development of the project promising?

Replicability

  • Can the project be copied or easily used as an example in similar circumstances at other places?

Simplicity

  • Is the project highly independent of the specific capacities or knowledge of the person(s) running it?

Replaceability

  • If apparent alternatives already exist for the methods or materials used, how are the differences evaluated?

Attractiveness

  • How is the project presented in external relationships (partners)?
  • Can the presentation appeal to the target audience?

Quality

  • If the project involves go-technical content, to what degree does it add value?
